Volunteer Opportunities

Various volunteer opportunities are available at Johnson Mathers Health Care, Inc.

The "Corner Boutique" Gift Shop is operated by the JMHC Auxiliary, with all proceeds used for direct patient/resident care.  The Auxiliary recently purchased a 50" Wide Screen, LCD TV and DVD Player for the Nursing Home Lobby.  The Gift Shop is operated by volunteers who are members of the JMHC Auxiliary.  The Auxiliary also hosts many fund raisers during the year, such as the Annual Christmas Bazaar, Pancake Breakfast, various Bake Sales, Rummage Sale, Uniform Sales, etc.  If you are interested in a volunteer opportunity with the JMHC Auxiliary, please contact Sue Kirby, JMHC, (859) 289-7181; or e-mail at dfryman@johnsonmathers.org.

There are also volunteer opportunities with the Johnson Mathers Nursing Home.  Volunteers are always welcome to run errands and deliver messages; read to residents; write letters at the residents' request; arrange and care for flowers and plants; assist residents to the dining area; play checkers or other games with residents; spend time talking with residents; and escort resident to various activities.  If you and your group would like to come and sing or if you would like to come visit with residents and assist with the above, please contact Sharon Beckett or Sueann Morgan at (859) 289-7181; or e-mail at sbeckett@johnsonmathers.org. We really appreciate our volunteers!
