Who Are We

Johnson Mathers Health Care, Inc. is a private, community-based, not-for-profit organization doing business as Nicholas County Hospital and Johnson Mathers Nursing Home, governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees.

Nicholas County Hospital is licensed as a Critical Access Hospital with 15 hospital/swing beds and an additional 3 swing beds. Johnson Mathers Nursing Home has 104 beds certified for both skilled and nursing facility care. Both Nicholas County Hospital and Johnson Mathers Nursing Home are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Johnson Mathers Health Care is committed to providing quality care to the citizens of Nicholas and surrounding counties. With over 215 skilled employees, JMHC continues to assure that the needs of its patients and the community are met in a high-quality and cost-effective manner by adding new services, improving technology and bringing additional medical professionals to the community.
